YFM wins Deal of the Year at Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards

Insider Media have begun announcing the winners of the 2020 Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards, starting today with two deals categories. The winner of Deal of the Year (up to £5m) is YFM Equity Partners and Comhar Capital for their investment into Panintelligence.

PanIntelligence is a Leeds-based data analytics and business intelligence software developer. The firm secured £4.5m in a Series A funding round in November 2019. The business was established in 2014 and its software has more than 200,000 users worldwide. At the time, the funding was earmarked to take advantage of opportunities abroad, particularly the US. The lead advisers on the fundraising were Grant Thornton. Other advisers were Shoosmiths, Freeths, Whitecap Consulting and DAC Beachcroft.

Panintelligence chief executive Zandra Moore said: “We chose YFM and Comhar as our partners as we felt they shared our ambition to grow the business in the right way to maintain the culture and the brand. The Grant Thornton corporate finance team’s knowledge of the funding landscape and their deep technical understanding of our product and market delivered a fantastic result for both the company and its shareholders.”

Mike Clarke, an Investment Director at YFM Equity Partners, joined the board of Panintelligence post-investment. When announcing the deal Mike said: “We quickly saw the value that Panintelligence delivers to its customers through an embedded product. The Pi Dashboard has the potential to be deployed across the globe.”

“Panintelligence is exactly the type of high-growth business we want to support and fundraising now makes perfect sense. We are bringing the capital that will enable Zandra, Ken and a first-rate executive board to drive the business forward.”

The Insider Media judging panel assessed mergers, acquisitions or investments for complexity, barriers to progress that were overcome and how transformational the deal was for the businesses concerned. Read more about the awards on the Insider Media website.
