YFM is a signatory to Investing in Women Code, a commitment to break down barriers that prevent women entrepreneurs from accessing capital. Over the last year, we have been collecting and submitting data on the investment opportunities we have received and expanding our network of female founders.

Adopting The Diversity VC Standard

​​This certification sets the benchmark for best practices in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) for recruitment, culture, investment opportunity, and portfolio guidance. For 40 years, YFM has prioritised investing in people. Despite society’s growing diversity, the private equity industry still lags behind. ​Diverse perspectives help teams avoid echo chambers, make better decisions, and achieve greater returns. This standard outlines processes and policies proven to enhance diversity in all aspects of an investment firm’s operations.​ As a certified firm, we are implementing best practices to ensure fair access to capital, foster diverse teams, and support underrepresented founders. By joining this initiative, we are holding ourselves accountable and continuously improving to make our industry more equitable.

Every year, we welcome interns to our Leeds, Manchester, and London offices for six weeks to gain valuable work experience. We partner with Sanctuary Graduates, a leading graduate recruitment agency in the UK renowned for its expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I). Sanctuary Graduates is dedicated to assisting employers in sourcing diverse talent from various backgrounds, fostering a more inclusive and equitable environment for all applicants. The agency partners with organisations like The Sutton Trust to drive social mobility and provide recruitment solutions that support underrepresented talent through conferences, training, and tailored hiring practices.
