"The business grew tremendously in the two years following the MBO. As well as the acquisition of Belcom247, the group grew organically at an exceptional rate, expanded into new state-of-the-art facilities and doubled headcount. It's been an exciting period and we have welcomed the support and financial backing of YFM through to the exit."

Key Information

The Business

Indigo Telecom Group is a leading provider of telecommunications infrastructure services, specialising in the design, build, and support of critical telecom networks. With expertise in fibre, wireless, and data centre technologies, Indigo serves global clients in the telecom, enterprise, and data centre markets. The company is recognised for delivering high-quality, scalable solutions that support the rapid growth of digital infrastructure.

Why We Invested

YFM Equity Partners invested in Indigo Telecom Group in 2016 to support a management buyout (MBO) alongside Maven Capital Partners. The funding aimed to enhance Indigo’s growth strategy by expanding its service offerings, increasing its geographic footprint, and driving operational improvements.

YFM provided additional funding to support Indigo’s acquisition of Belcom247, a move that significantly bolstered its capabilities in managed network services and further solidified its market position.

Growth Potential

During YFM’s partnership, Indigo achieved remarkable growth and operational milestones:

  • Strategic Acquisition: Acquired Belcom247, enhancing its managed services capabilities and expanding its reach in critical network infrastructure support.
  • Expanded its international footprint, serving clients across Europe, Asia, and North America.
  • Strengthened its service portfolio, addressing increasing demand for telecom and data centre infrastructure services.
  • Positioned itself as a trusted partner for global telecom operators and enterprise clients.
  • Delivered substantial revenue growth, supported by increased demand for robust telecom infrastructure.

Outcome

YFM successfully exited its investment in Indigo Telecom Group through a sale to private equity firm Growth Capital Partners. The transaction generated a 4.2x return for YFM investors, reflecting the significant value created during its partnership. The exit marked a new chapter for Indigo Telecom Group, providing the business with additional resources to continue its international expansion and service innovation.
