As we move to a new investor it’s important for me to thank the team at YFM for the support they have given the business over the last 5 years. It’s been an incredible journey together involving some unexpected global conditions, but we always worked well together, and I couldn’t have asked for more from an investor. The financial growth, customer success and positive working culture that we have developed are all testament to this teamwork.

Key Information

The Business

DSP is a leading provider of database, cloud, and applications managed services, with deep expertise in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server technologies. As one of Oracle’s top European partners, the company supports clients across diverse sectors, including financial services, healthcare, and public services. DSP delivers cutting-edge cloud infrastructure and database management solutions tailored to meet complex enterprise needs.

Why We Invested

YFM Equity Partners first invested £10 million in DSP in 2018 to support a management buyout and fuel the company’s ambitious growth plans. This was followed in 2021 by a follow-on investment, backing the management teams’ growing ambition, further accelerating growth and supporting strategic acquisitions. During its partnership with YFM, DSP undertook an acquisitive growth strategy, completing five acquisitions, including the Oracle Applications Partner Claremont, which significantly expanded its service capabilities and client base.

Growth Story

Under YFM’s ownership, DSP achieved substantial growth and strategic milestones:

  • Increased revenue by 500%, reaching £30 million in annual turnover.
  • Grew its headcount to approximately 200 employees across the UK and Ireland.
  • Expanded its client base to over 500 businesses.
  • Enhanced its service offering through key acquisitions, including Explorer UK and Claremont, strengthening its position as the leading Oracle services provider in the UK and Ireland.
  • Developed a strong “people-first” culture, earning recognition for leadership excellence.

Outcome

In 2023, YFM successfully exited its investment in DSP through a sale to private equity investor LDC. The transaction marked the culmination of a five-year partnership that drove significant financial growth, customer success, and operational advancements. The exit underscores YFM’s strategy of supporting high-potential businesses and creating long-term value for investors.
