Roux Brits joins the Portfolio team at YFM Equity Partners

YFM Equity Partners (YFM) announced today the appointment of Roux Brits as Portfolio Director. Based in the London office, Roux will be focused on actively managing YFM’s growth and buy-out investment portfolio as part of the national portfolio team led by David Bell.

Roux joins YFM from growth debt fund manager, BOOST&CO, where he was responsible for managing the fund’s investments in a broad range of high growth businesses to maximise returns. After originally qualifying as a Chartered Accountant at Ernst & Young in Johannesburg, South Africa, Roux moved to the UK in 2008. Prior to joining BOOST he held several senior finance roles within high growth and private equity-backed businesses, allowing him insight into life on both sides of the table.

Roux’s appointment follows a strong recent investment period for YFM, with seven new investments from its Growth and Buyout funds during 2019, plus a number of additional new deals expected to complete soon.  YFM added almost £100m to its investment capacity last year, including a £60m first close of Buyout Fund II. With this significant growth funding capacity, further growth in portfolio numbers is expected over the coming years.

David Bell, Head of Portfolio at YFM said: “I am delighted to welcome Roux to YFM.  He has a wealth of experience of working with high growth businesses and complements the range of skills within our experienced portfolio team. His industry knowledge and deep understanding of the business world means that Roux has unique insights that will add to YFM’s portfolio expertise.”

Roux Brits added: “I’m delighted to be joining YFM at such an exciting time following the recent close of the latest buyout fund.  With its growth and buyout funds targeting SMEs across the UK, YFM is ideally placed to assist them to realise their growth ambitions. I look forward to working with the talented management teams to help the portfolio businesses achieve their potential.”
