YFM backs Xapien’s next stage of growth as part of a $56m Series B

Vikki Harrison, Marketing & PR Manager

The $56m round will support Xapien's AI-native platform and continued expansion in the US.

YFM first backed Xapien in 2023 and has continued to invest as the business has scaled, with annual recurring revenue growing eightfold over that period. This latest round brings significant international growth capital into a UK-founded technology business, supporting Xapien’s next stage of expansion while enabling the British Smaller Companies VCTs to maintain a material stake. It also reflects YFM’s approach of continuing to back high-performing portfolio companies through successive stages of growth.

For twenty years, due diligence has slowed business down. Xapien turns compliance from a business blocker into an enabler of growth.

YFM has made a further investment in Xapien, participating in the $56m Series B round led by Spectrum Equity, a growth equity firm with extensive experience in risk and compliance technology.

Changing how businesses approach due diligence

Business relationships move quickly, but the processes used to assess the risks behind them have traditionally been manual and time-consuming. Unable to afford the time and money to run comprehensive risk analysis on all their counterparts, organisations reserve real scrutiny for a fraction of their relationships, creating potential blind spots.

Xapien’s dynamic due diligence platform enables organisations to gain full counterparty risk visibility without compromising on speed or scale.

Its AI-native solution reads information from the open web, corporate records, sanctions lists and media across over 250 languages. Proprietary entity resolution technology then resolves individuals and entities against thousands of similarly-named people and companies worldwide, ensuring accurate persona clustering and subject identification. It then analyses the information and produces a clear, fully sourced and auditable report in minutes rather than days.

Currently in beta, Xapien Live extends this capability by giving organisations a continuously updated view of counterparty risk, allowing them to move from periodic, point-in-time checks to continuous risk intelligence.

Supporting continued growth in the US

The new funding will be used to accelerate Xapien’s growth in North America, including expanding its Boston office and team and relocating several members of its senior leadership to the US.

Xapien has grown Annual Recurring Revenue by more than 350% over the past 24 months. Today, 350 clients and partners across 15 countries use its technology to support their due diligence processes.

“Instead of automating old processes, we’re rebuilding them and giving compliance, legal and procurement teams full visibility on every counterparty, all the time,” said Chris Green, CEO of Xapien.

Xapien is setting a new standard for due diligence. Now we’re backing the team to take dynamic due diligence to more businesses, in more markets
