YFM backs TWO Services to support its next stage of growth
Essential services that keep kitchens operating safely
Commercial kitchens depend on rigorous cleaning, reliable equipment and responsive maintenance to operate safely and efficiently. For organisations managing multiple locations, they also need a partner capable of delivering the same high standards across every site.
TWO Services has built its reputation by doing exactly that.
Founded in 1986, the Essex-headquartered business provides specialist commercial kitchen cleaning, maintenance and equipment supply services to customers across the UK. Its clients span the contract catering and facilities management sectors, serving education, healthcare, hospitality and commercial end sectors.
YFM has invested through Buyout Fund III to support the next stage of growth for a business with four decades of experience, strong customer relationships and a culture that remains firmly rooted in its family-run beginnings.
Four decades of experience
TWO Services was founded by Alan Osborn, the business has grown from its Essex roots into a trusted nationwide operator, with operational centres in London and Leeds and a team of around 100 people.
Today, the company is led by the next generation of the Osborn family, with Managing Director Barry Osborn continuing to build on the standards and relationships established by his father.
That continuity can also be seen across the wider team. Many employees have been part of TWO Services for between 25 and 35 years, bringing considerable technical knowledge and experience to the business.
A joined-up approach to cleaning and maintenance
TWO Services supports customers across three complementary areas: specialist kitchen cleaning and hygiene, kitchen maintenance and equipment supply.
Its services range from kitchen deep cleaning, ductwork and extraction cleaning, fog sanitisation and ventilation hygiene to planned maintenance, emergency repairs, and supply and installation of kitchen equipment.
Bringing these services together allows TWO Services to support customers throughout the life of their commercial kitchens, helping them meet their safety and regulatory responsibilities while minimising disruption and downtime.
A strong position in a resilient market
Cleaning and maintaining commercial kitchens is essential rather than discretionary. Increasing regulatory requirements, a continued focus on hygiene and safety, and the operational cost of equipment failure all contribute to sustained demand for experienced and responsive service providers.
TWO Services has developed long-standing relationships across the contract catering and facilities management sectors, earning customer loyalty through its technical expertise, response times and commitment to getting the job right.
Those relationships, combined with the scale of the market and the opportunity to extend services across existing and new customer sites, provide a strong foundation for further growth.
Investing in people, equipment and national coverage
The investment will support TWO Services as it expands its engineering and cleaning teams, and extends its coverage across the UK.
The focus is on building on what already works: strengthening the company’s operations, increasing capacity and helping the team provide its established standard of service to more customers and locations.
Just as importantly, the family values and close-knit culture behind the company’s success will remain central to its plans.
Barry Osborn, Managing Director of TWO Services, said:
“This is a hugely exciting moment for TWO Services. This partnership gives us a real opportunity to strengthen our operations, accelerate our growth and build an even brighter future for the business.
“But I want to be clear about what won’t change: the family values and culture that have made us successful for 40 years remain at the heart of everything we do, for our people and for our clients.”
Why we invested
TWO Services combines a strong position in an essential and resilient market with an experienced team, established customer relationships and clear opportunities for organic growth.
We were particularly impressed by Barry’s ambition for the business and his commitment to growing without losing the culture, service standards and personal relationships that have underpinned its success.
Zach Francis, Investment Director at YFM Equity Partners, who led the deal alongside Srikar Karri, said:
“Barry and the team have built a highly regarded business with an excellent reputation for technical expertise, responsiveness and consistently high standards.
“TWO Services operates in a large and resilient market, where customers increasingly need dependable partners capable of supporting multiple sites and services. The business has a clear opportunity to build on its existing relationships, expand its national coverage and continue investing in its people and capabilities.
“We’re looking forward to working with Barry and the wider team as they deliver the next stage of TWO Services’ growth.”
Zach led the investment alongside Srikar Karri, with Steve Harrison joining the YFM portfolio team.
YFM will work closely with TWO Services as the business expands its teams, strengthens its operations and builds on 40 years of experience and customer trust.
