Spotless Water secures £6.35m to accelerate growth of its UK pure water network
YFM leads a follow-on equity investment to accelerate the rollout
Pure water is essential to professional cleaning. Getting hold of it reliably has always been the problem.
For window cleaners, vehicle detailers and maintenance professionals, water quality directly affects the quality of their work. Zero-TDS water, free of dissolved solids, leaves no streaks, spots or residue. It removes the need for chemical detergents. But producing it on-site means expensive equipment, ongoing maintenance and significant waste. For most operators, the economics have never stacked up.
Spotless Water was built to change that. We’re pleased to announce that YFM has led a £6.35m follow-on equity investment into Spotless Water, backing the business as it enters its most ambitious phase of growth.
A network built on access and convenience
Since launching in 2016, Spotless Water has developed the UK’s first and only national network of self-service pure water filling stations,165 sites operating 24/7 across the country, supporting more than 22,000 weekly refills and over 600 million litres dispensed to date.
What makes the model work is the concession approach. Each station is installed as a fully managed, hands-off unit within an existing retail or fuel forecourt location, meaning customers can refill while they shop, refuel or charge their vehicles. That embedded convenience has allowed the business to scale in a way that’s genuinely difficult to replicate and has driven
The environmental benefit is real too. By removing the need for chemical detergents and reducing water waste compared with traditional purification methods, Spotless Water helps its customers work more sustainably as a natural consequence of using the service.
What this investment will do
This investment will be used to significantly accelerate the rollout of new stations, deepening existing concession partnerships with Morrisons, Park Garage Group and Motor Fuel Group and bringing access to pure water to many more locations nationwide.
The investment has also significantly strengthened the management team, with the appointment of Luca Contardo as Chief Financial Officer. Luca brings experience of scaling businesses, most recently at 23 Degrees Coffee, to support the next phase of the business’s development.
Why we invested
Spotless Water has built the UK’s only national network of pure water stations. The network gives cleaning and maintenance professionals instant access to pure water without the cost or waste that comes with producing it themselves and the concession model means that access keeps expanding through partnerships that are already at national scale.
Our conviction in the business centres on the combination of a differentiated product, a growing network that is hard to replicate, and a team that has consistently delivered against an ambitious growth plan.
