Fuuse appoints Roger Hunter as CEO to lead next phase of growth

Vikki Harrison, Marketing & PR Manager

A new chapter begins

Fuuse has appointed Roger Hunter as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking the next step in the growth journey of one of the UK’s leading EV charge point management platforms.

Built from the ground up

Founded by Michael Gibson in 2016 and launched as an EV charge point management platform in 2021, the Lancaster-headquartered business has grown rapidly into a nationally recognised software provider, supporting over 1,000 commercial clients and partners, among them ScottishPower, Arnold Clark, SSE and United Utilities.

Why we invested

YFM invested £8m in Fuuse across 2024 and 2025 to accelerate that growth, backing a hardware-agnostic platform with strong commercial traction and a significant opportunity in an EV charging market that is expanding fast.

Introducing Roger Hunter

Roger brings deep experience across the global EV charging sector, having previously served as Global Vice President, E-Mobility at Shell, where he led Shell Recharge Solutions. He also held senior global roles at BorgWarner and currently serves as a non-executive director at Ignitis, the largest charge point operator in the Baltics. He will work alongside Michael during a handover period before formally assuming the role.

A decade of leadership

Michael leaves having built Fuuse from an early-stage data business into a nationally recognised platform, completing multiple successful funding rounds, including the company’s £8.7m Series A in May 2024. The board and the team at YFM wish him well in what comes next.

What this means for Fuuse

For YFM, this appointment reflects a business that has the commercial momentum and platform to continue scaling. Roger’s background in the sector means he arrives with a clear understanding of where the EV charging market is heading and what it will take to lead it.

Jonathan Marlow, Partner at YFM Equity Partners, said: “Roger brings exactly the kind of sector experience that a business at Fuuse’s stage of growth benefits from. His background leading EV charging operations at scale, across Shell, BorgWarner and beyond, gives him a clear view of where this market is heading. Michael has built something hugely impressive over the past decade, and we look forward to working with Roger as Fuuse continues to grow.”

We look forward to supporting the next chapter.
