Independent Chairman joins YFM Equity Partners

Andrew Marchant, one of the founders of the UK and European private equity industry has joined YFM Equity Partners in the new position of non-executive Chairman.
Andrew
joins YFM Equity Partners having spent the last three decades working
in the private equity industry. He first started at the Prudential before going on to be a founder partner of Schroder Ventures; subsequently renamed Permira. He then moved to Cinven
where he was a director and co-owner during a period of significant
growth that also spanned its emergence into independent ownership.
In 2002, he became Chairman of Unigestion’s Private Equity division until 2008 and remains as Chairman of Unigestion UK. He currently holds a number of other roles including that of a partner in business consultancy, Animos LLP and wealth management firm Saltus LLP.
Andrew has been an active investor his entire career, with notable experience in the transport, IT, leisure and healthcare sectors. His investments include: Wightlink, Odeon Cinemas and Ridgemont Care Homes. He has also raised a number of funds from £300m to £900m from institutional investors across Europe.
